Storrie Steps Down As Pompey Chief Exec
15 Mar 10 - Business
Peter Storrie has stepped down as chief executive of Portsmouth Football Club.
A statement from the club's administrator Andrew Andronikou revealed Mr Storrie had left "in the best interests of the club" after speaking with family and friends.
Mr Storrie will continue to advise the club in a consultancy role.
He had taken a 40% pay cut after 85 of the club's staff were made redundant earlier this week, as Mr Andronikou sought to cut costs.
Mr Storrie will be "remunerated accordingly" for working with Pompey on a range of matters, including the sale of the club.
Chief executive Storrie had already announced that he would tender his resignation when the club was sold.
But current club owner Balram Chainrai called in administrators last month after no buyer could be found.
The club reported debts of £70m, including more than £12m owed in tax to HM Revenue and Customs, which issued a winding-up order against it.
