Clacks Council funding “disproportionately low” – report
Written by centralfmnews on June 27, 2019
A report claims Clacks Council is receiving “disproportionately low” levels of funding from the Scottish Government.
Independent auditors from the Accounts Commission claim the amount of money the local authority receives, doesn’t reflect the area’s level of deprivation.
It’s part of a study by the public spending watchdog – who will discuss their findings with Councillors today.
The local authority needs to plug a £10 million funding gap ahead of their next budget.
They’ve already made £43 million worth of budget cuts, since 2011.
