Covid vaccine clinics open for 12 – 15 year olds in Scotland from Monday

Written by on September 14, 2021

All 12 – 15-year-olds will be offered one dose of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine in Scotland, the First Minister has confirmed.

From Monday drop-in vaccine clinics will open across the country for this age group.

The announcement from Nicola Sturgeon comes the day after all 4 of the UK’s chief medical officers concluded this group should be offered the jag.

On September 27th, appointment letters will be sent out and finally, a vaccination programme will be rolled-out across schools.

Speaking at Holyrood, the First Minister said:

“In addition to the CMO advice on 12 – 15 years olds, we have received today the final JCVI advice on a vaccine booster programme.

“This advice has been broadly endorsed by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. I am grateful to all four Chief Medical Officers for assessing the evidence on this issue with pace and also with rigour.”
