Attempted murder charge after Larbert incident

A 46-year-old man will appear in court today charged with attempted murder, after an incident on a train near Larbert.

He's also been charged with assault, and possession of an offensive weapon.

Police were called to the station at around 7:30pm on Friday night.

Two men in their 20s were taken to hospital after the incident - with one in a "serious" condition.

A British Transport Police statement read: “A 46-year-old man has now been charged with attempted murder, assault, and possession of an offensive weapon, following an incident on board a train heading to Larbert railway station on just after 7.30pm on 16 February.

“He will be remanded in custody until his appearance at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Monday 19 February.

“A man in his 20s remains in a serious condition in hospital. A second man in his 20s has been released from hospital.

“A report will be prepared for the Procurator Fiscal.”
