Dunipace FC to return home

Three months after a devastating fire, Dunipace Football Club will return to their home venue this weekend.

Hundreds of thousands of pounds has been spent on repairing the pitch, after the fire in May.

The club has played at a variety of local grounds in the meantime, including Ochilview, Newtown Park in Bo'ness and Beechwood Park in Sauchie.

In a statement, Dunipace Football Club say:

"The club will play our first match on the new pitch on Saturday when West of Scotland Football League side Finnart are the visitors in the South Challenge Cup.

"After the devastating blaze caused hundred of thousands of pounds of damage, our teams have had to train and play elsewhere across the Forth Valley - with the first-team playing games at Stenhousemuir's Ochilview; Bo'ness' Newtown Park; Prestonfield in Linlithgow and, most recently, Beechwood Park in Sauchie.

"Given the incredible support from fans and clubs alike during our time away from Westfield, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has reached out, offered support, donated to our crowdfunder or lent a hand to the Pace over the last  few months as we worked hard to get back playing where we should.
Our return to Westfield couldn't have come at a better time with a run of three home games in the space of a week as Vale of Leithen and Arniston Rangers head to Denny after the Finnart tie.

"The prospect of three consecutive home games will give the new pitch a thorough test and give fans a chance to come out and show their support for Danny Smith's side.

"We can't wait to get back home this weekend and we'd love it if as many of you as possible were to join us as we make our return.

Kick-off on Saturday is at 2.30pm."
