Murray withdraws from Wimbledon

Andy Murray has withdrawn from the Wimbledon men's singles.

The Dunblane star has also confirmed this will be his final Wimbledon.

He was recovering from back surgery, after suffering an injury at Queen's Club.

Murray won the tournament in 2013 and 2016.

Murray is expected to play in the doubles alongside brother Jamie.

A statement from Andy Murray's team says:

"Unfortunately, despite working incredibly hard on his recovery since his operation just over a week ago, Andy has taken the very difficult decision not to play the singles this year. As you can imagine, he is extremely disappointed but has confirmed that he will be playing in the doubles with Jamie and looks forward to competing at Wimbledon for the last time."
