New Forth Valley College strikes

Students at Forth Valley College are facing further disruption.

A new round of strike action begins today.

They're walk out for four days every week until the end of June.

The EIS-FELA union is locked in a long-running pay dispute with College Employers Scotland.

Forth Valley College say they "sincerely" hope a resolution is found.

Kenny MacInnes, Principal of Forth Valley College, said: “We are disappointed to learn of these new dates for industrial action in relation to an ongoing national dispute. This time of year is always a crucial period as students work towards completing their course and there will be concerns over the impact this will have on students’ opportunities to progress to their next steps. Our aim, as always, will be to minimise the impact on learning and teaching wherever possible and to do everything we can to ensure our students can achieve their qualifications.

“We understand how challenging this situation is and would encourage students to reach out if they need support.

“We sincerely hope a resolution can be found soon but will continue to keep our students, staff and partners updated as required.”
