Over 55s get their say on housing

Age Scotland is looking to speak to people over the age of 55 about their housing and household energy needs.
It’s running a survey to get people’s opinions until the 19th January and is offering the chance to win £50 in cash to those who complete it.
The Scottish Government has already pledged to build 50,000 new homes by the end of this Parliament.
It’s hoped the findings of the survey will shape its policy on house making and establish the kind of homes people want to live in in later life.
Adam Stachura, head of policy and communications at Age Scotland, said: “The quality of the housing you live in has a profound impact on your health, especially as you reach older age.
“We hear from people who are no longer able to use all of their home due to steep steps or mobility issues, who find their home too expensive to heat properly or who don’t get out of their home enough due to a lack of public services in their area.
“We also want to know if people have given consideration to their future housing needs and if they feel their current home will suitable as they age.”
The survey is running until the 19th January and you can find it here.
