Scotland will move to Level 0 on Monday, First Minister confirms

Written by on July 13, 2021

All of mainland Scotland will move to Level 0 on Monday July 19th, Nicola Sturgeon has confirmed.

There’s been some modifications to the Level 0 guidance though and the First Minister says face masks will remain a requirement for “some time.”

The move on Monday means 8 people from 4 households can meet inside their own homes and 10 people from 4 households can meet in indoor public places.

That number expands to 15 people from 15 households for outdoor places.

200 people will be allowed to attend weddings and funerals.

Hospitality venues will no longer require a 2-hour pre-booked slot from customers and they can open until midnight.

However, those working from home should remain doing so as the First Minster says the data does not allow for this guidance to change.

Another major development is that fully vaccinated people will no longer have to self-isolate if identified as a close contact as long as they return a negative PCR test from mid-August.

Anyone arriving into Scotland who is fully vaccinated from an amber list country will no longer be required to self-isolate on arrival.

The First Minister says she hopes we can move beyond Level 0 from August 9th.
