Stirling man runs his first ever marathon across the city for charity

A Stirling man’s taking on his first marathon today for the Duke of Edinburgh style – Do it 4 Youth challenge.
31-year-old Chris Wood has been training during the pandemic to take on the run by himself.
He’s raised almost £300 and tells us he will be crossing local landmarks in the area.
“I thought it would be a cool idea to hit some of the highlights of Stirling so I’m going to the Wallace Monument, the uni and then I’m a big fan of Andy Murray so I thought lets go to Andy Murray’s gold post box in Dunblane.”
Chris tells us he is looking forward to taking on the challenge, even in the current hot climate:
“I’m really excited as this was an idea I had quite a few months ago.
“It’s something I’m really quite excited about but I’m looking forward to getting it done because I told my partner that my recovery is going to be eating two pizzas!”
