Early learning and childcare in Stirling is the joint best in Scotland, according to a new report.
Inspectors graded all of the city’s official nurseries and childminders as “good” or higher last year.
Only East Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire achieved similar ratings.
Nurseries in Falkirk and Clacks are also both ranked well above the national average.
Convener of Stirling Council’s Children and Young People Committee, Susan McGill said, “These fantastic figures reflect the outstanding efforts of staff in nurseries across Stirling and show our children are receiving the highest standards of care, learning experiences and support.
“We are committed to ensuring Stirling continues to perform highly in early education so our children have the best possible start in life and can achieve their potential.”
Vice Convener of the Committee, Margaret Brisley added, “For Stirling Council to be ranked among the top performing local authorities in Scotland for early years provision is tremendous recognition for our dedicated nursery staff.
“They are creating a high-quality, safe and nurturing environment for children to develop key skills which will help them reach positive destinations.”
