Our finalists have been revealed!
“We grew up in the same circles, hanging with the same friends in Dollar. We went to the same schools and Keith’s dad was my football coach. It still took us until I was 20 and Keith 23 before there was any romance. I am pretty sure he chased me however sometimes we just need to agree to disagree! We share a love for music and make each other laugh all day! We moved in together after 1 year then 2 weeks later we found out we were going to be parents. At 21 and 24 we were nervous however sure we could accomplish anything with each other by our sides. A few months later our son arrived. The whirlwind of being parents took over our lives and we enjoyed every minute we spent with our little boy. Three years later, whilst in my final year of uni, we found out baby Mitchell no. 2 was due. Whilst on a family holiday up north, we took our son to find the lighthouses in the dark along the beach. Keith got down on one knee and asked me to be his wifey. Of course I said yes however quickly asked him to get up as I could see someone coming. We giggled and he put a ring on it! A few months later our daughter came along who became the boss from day one. Our family was complete and we planned on having our wedding soon after however our priorities lay with buying a house and having fun with our kids.
After a 5 year engagement, we would love to finally be the Mitchells!”
“Me and Danny have been together 5 years, we have a daughter Poppy Jane who is 15 months old, who is the apple of our eye. We are a hard working happy family who enjoys life to the full. We enjoy fundraising so when this opportunity came up we thought this is definitely something we would be up for, Strathcarron is an amazing organisation and has served our family well. It would be nice to give them a little something back in return.”
“Alan & I have been together for over 15 years now, we live in Tillicoultry with our 6 year old son Philip & cat, Cheeka who are both just as mad as each other 🙂
We have been engaged now for over 14 years now. Alan proposed when we were a walk up the Ochils, proposing with a ring pull from a can.
The hospice is close to our hearts & they helped care for Alan’s late father, so any fundraising we can do with the help from our friends & family is great appreciated.
As life events go, we had been saving for a wedding back in 2011/2012 when we fell pregnant but our son Philip was born prematurely. Philip arrived when I was 5.5 months pregnant, arriving 14 weeks prematurely & after 3 life saving surgeries including heart & bowel surgeries and just under a 6 months stay in 3 different hospitals he was discharged from Yorkhill in March 2013. Obviously due to the circumstances at the time we had to use all of our savings.
Since then life has been hard work but an absolute pleasure. We are blessed with a healthy happy go lucky 6 year old who just absolutely loves life in every way!
We all love anything with wheels, however drifting is our favourite car sport 🙂 We also love going on family walks/adventures together.
Please everyone get together and let’s raise as much money as possible for such an amazing worth cause.”
“Martin and I met through online dating almost 5 years ago and it didn’t take long to realise that we were meant for each other. We have been engaged for 2 years now. Martin and I have three children from our previous relationships and have become a blended family. After struggles with fertility, we finally got our miracle and our family increased when our daughter Emily was born. We are an active family. During the day Martin works as Joiner and I am a childminder. Our children are everything to us and our days and nights are spent making sure they attend all their clubs and lessons or coaching their football.
Last year we started to think about our wedding but our priorities quickly changed. My mum Michelle (47) was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer in the last week of October 2018. My mum moved into Strathcarron Hospice. The family were informed that Christmas would be our last with mum. Sadly mums cancer was too aggressive and she lost her battle on the 26th of November 2018. Leaving behind her three children Jack (12), Nicole (21), and me. Plus her grandson Tyler(4) and she was heart broken knowing she would not get to meet her second grandchild Emily.
It would be amazing to win our dream wedding but if we don’t we will equally be happy knowing we are supporting a charity extremely close to our heart. The Strathcarron nurses gave my mum and our family the best care and the wonderful counselling our family received especially my little brother. The staff have even helped me to support my son through the grieving process. It is an honour to be able to fundraise for an outstanding unit. Every member of staff from the nurse to the kitchen staff are all super hero’s and deserve all the support we can provide for them.”
We wish ALL of our finalists the very best of luck and we’ll reveal the winning couple on our breakfast show on Friday 26th July!
