The demolition of the Alloa Leisure Bowl begins today.
The site has been closed to the public since March 2020.
The demolition work is expected to last until mid-summer.
Clacks Council have approved plans for a new Wellbeing Hub in the west of the town.
Work is set to begin at the end of next year - and should be completed by 2026.
A Clackmannanshire Council statement says:
"On completion, the site will be left with an ash or gravel level surface and will be marketed for future development.
The Council’s ambitious plans for a new wellbeing hub are currently at the detailed design phase.
The hub will be built at The Pavilions, Alloa West, with on the ground construction expected to begin towards the end of 2024 with a completion date two years later."
