A group has launched a bid to install 45 defibrillators in Falkirk.
Forth Valley CFR say 200 people a year suffer cardiac arrests while out of hospital in the town.
The plan would see 5 devices installed in every Falkirk Council district.
They're hoping for just under £74,000 in funding - as part of the local authority's Community Choices grant system.
Aaron Smith is the Chairman of the group.
He says:
"We're looking to put 5 public access defibrillators in each of the 9 Falkirk Council wards - that would take the total up to 45.
"We're one of three organisations to have put in a capital bid for across the area, but the only one to trying to do public access defibrillators this year.
"10% of people survive without early CPR or early defibrillation,
"By increasing the access to defibrillators available across Falkirk, we hope that should an event like that occur, there'd be a defibrillator near that someone can collect while waiting for an ambulance."
